Sarah Davenport

Clinical Psychologist

As a clinical psychologist for over 15 years, I have heard first-hand of the struggles women experience during peri-menopause and menopause. From their mid-30s, many women tell me they are overburdened with responsibilities and pressures in all areas of life. They describe juggling work demands, caring responsibilities, financial pressures, relationship issues, and physical health issues. On top of this, most are facing the complex physical and emotional symptoms that come with the hormonal shifts of peri-menopause and menopause.

It is no surprise that this has left many women feeling anxious, frustrated, overwhelmed, exhausted and stuck during this time of their lives. Many women say they have coped well with stress throughout their lives and are shocked and confused to now feel they are at their breaking point. They say they feel they are on a rollercoaster of emotions and physical symptoms. Many women say they feel full of self-doubt, feel unfulfilled and unsatisfied with the way their life has turned out, and are unsure where and how to get the help to move forward.

I am passionate about supporting and empowering my clients to get the help they need during this time. My mission is to help my clients navigate these changes effectively and with greater ease. My hope is for my clients to feel more calm, content and confident in themselves and their lives.

I am trained and experienced in a number of scientifically validated therapies including; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), as well as insights from attachment theory and non-dieting approaches.

I am the Director and Principal Clinical Psychologist at Headstrong Psychology, a private clinical psychology practice in Malvern East, Melbourne.

Sarah sees clients in-person and via Telehealth.
