As you may already know perimenopause is one of the most significant physical transitions women will experience in life, but it also comes at a time when many other transitions are already underway. Life demands with work, family, and ageing parents, children becoming independent, or changes in a relationship with a partner and even grief over opportunities lost can take a huge toll on our wellbeing and psychological health. It can feel overwhelming.
Talking to someone can help immensely. With a Master of Clinical Psychology and specialist training through Monash University in supporting women in midlife I use evidence-based therapy to help women make sense of their thoughts and feelings during this time, prioritise their own self-care, let go of their fears and move forward into this next phase of life with confidence, meaning and purpose. Trained in Gottman Couples Therapy (Level 2) I also help couples embrace the changes this time in life brings to build understanding and connection so they can have the relationship they want.
With a warm and authentic style, I am here to walk alongside women with clarity, compassion, and care to help them meet their unique needs. I use a range of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy informed approaches, Interpersonal Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. I offer sessions using telehealth - I find this a great way for people to be comfortable to talk in their own environment without the stress of attending an appointment. And as a mum to three grown boys and one daughter-in-law I am walking this journey with the women I meet. I love embracing the changes that every stage in life brings and have a deep desire to help women feel seen, understood and empowered during this time. You will find me quick to laugh, always happy to chat and deeply interested in the people I meet.
