PROGRAM PURPOSE
WANT is designed for midlife women who find themselves asking, Is this it?—women who are navigating the inner unrest, shifting roles, emotional upheaval, and identity questions that so often arise in perimenopause and beyond. It's a space for those who feel a quiet (or not-so-quiet) discomfort with life as it is, and who are ready to explore what lies beneath.
The program gently disrupts old narratives of who you should be, and makes space for you to explore who you actually are. We explore themes common to midlife—self-worth, boundaries, grief, relationships, joy, anger, unmet needs, and emerging desires. At its heart, this program exists to help you come home to yourself—more fully, more bravely, and with more clarity about what matters now.
WHAT IT IS NOT
The program, WANT, is not a psychological nor therapy service. Instead WANT is a coaching and mentoring program. It’s important to know that coaching in and of itself, draws heavily from psychological, educational and learning theory, models, tools and strategies. However the overarching purpose, framework, approach and content, in no way reflect a psychological treatment program or psychological intervention.
SECTION 1: PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This program is a small, supportive space led by Kirstin Bouse, Clinical Psychologist. It offers a blend of exploration, insight, connection, and growth. While programs such as WANT can be deeply powerful, it may not be appropriate for individuals in acute crisis or needing more intensive support. If this applies to you, please let Kirstin know.
SECTION 2: PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES
Confidentiality
You agree to keep group content private, including what other members share. While we ask all participants to uphold this, we cannot guarantee complete confidentiality outside the group.
Punctuality
Please arrive online, on time. Late arrivals can disrupt the process and may not be admitted once the session has begun.
Participation
You’re welcome to share at your own pace. While we encourage open reflection, you always have the right to say “pass” on a particular question or activity.
Respectful Communication
We ask all participants to be respectful, present, and mindful of the emotional space. This includes:
– Listening without interruption
– Avoiding unsolicited advice
– Allowing diverse views to be held
– Being mindful of not dominating the space
SECTION 3: EMOTIONAL SAFETY & FACILITATOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Emotional Discomfort & Triggers
Programs like WANT can stir emotions or unearth old wounds. This is normal, and support is available. We invite you to speak with the facilitator if you feel overwhelmed during or between sessions.
Group Ruptures & Repair
At times, there may be tension or discomfort between program members. This is not unusual, and it can offer important opportunities for reflection and repair. The facilitator is there to support respectful resolution and emotional safety for all.
Facilitator Discretion
Kirstin may pause or end a participant’s involvement if the group setting is no longer appropriate or if psychological or emotional safety is compromised. Where possible, referrals or alternative options will be discussed.
Recording Policy
In accordance with the Client Agreement, these sessions will be recorded and available to members registered for this specific group.
Managing Crisis
This program is not a crisis support service. If you experience significant distress between sessions, please contact your individual therapist or a crisis support line. A list of recommended services is available upon request.
SECTION 4: CONSENT & ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
By signing this agreement, I confirm that:
- I understand the purpose, boundaries, and limits of the WANT program
- I agree to participate respectfully and uphold confidentiality
- I understand WANT is not a psychological, therapy nor crisis service and will seek support if needed
- I understand the facilitator may contact me or withdraw me from the group if necessary for safety or clinical appropriateness
